1. Information We Collect
Chef Assistant collects the following information when you use our service:
- Account information — your name and email address provided via Google or Apple Sign In.
- Recipe and meal plan data — recipes, ingredients, and weekly plans you create within the app.
- Usage data — standard web analytics such as page views and feature usage to improve the service.
- Payment information — on iOS, subscriptions are billed by Apple through the App Store; on the web, billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Chef Assistant service.
- To save your recipes, meal plans, and grocery lists.
- To process and manage subscriptions through Apple for iOS purchases and Stripe for web purchases.
- To send local notifications you have explicitly scheduled (iOS only).
- To improve the app based on usage patterns.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate the app:
- Google / Apple — for authentication.
- Apple — for App Store subscription billing on iOS.
- Stripe — for web payment processing.
- Railway / Vercel — cloud hosting and database.
4. Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and associated app data directly in the app by going to Contact → Delete Account. You can also request deletion by email.
5. Notifications
Chef Assistant uses local notifications on iOS to remind you about meal prep. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device and are not sent via any external server. You can disable them at any time in your device settings.
6. Children's Privacy
Chef Assistant is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
